UPSC chairman Ajay Kumar announced a successful pilot of AI-based facial recognition for candidate verification, conducted during NDA, NA, and CDS exams in September 2025. Developed with NeGD, the system cut verification to 8–10 seconds per candidate, ensuring faster, secure entry. UPSC plans broader rollout with SOPs in place.
